The Return of Dr. Stew – Brilliant Dr Who Online Parody Killed By FOX Soon to Return

In a blow to the arts, to satire and to free speech, Doctor Stew – a parody of Dr Who, by Karstens Creations, and Manservantpablo Productions – was forced by 20th Century Fox to be deleted due to copyright reasons. Yes, 20th Century Fox, in their infinite wisdom, threatened legal action against a parody of their parody. How ironic is that?
Way to go boys, way to go.

So says Dr Stew;

“I hate to have to tell you, but there will now be NO ‘Crack to the Future’ ep, nor any new eps that feature Family Guy style characters…FOX, in their infinite ‘wisdom’ decided to threaten to sue us (isn’t that sweet? And us, doing a fan made, non profit series that PROMOTED FG for them for FREE…duh!…;), so we are not allowed to post the ‘Crack’, which was 90% finished…HOWEVER, watch for NEW STEW, regenerated…coming soon…”

What was FOX afraid of? Why would they shut down a non profit parody/satire made by fans?

But last October, this teaser hit the net:

It appears as though rational minds prevailed at FOX and they are granting Dr Stew a new life.
Recently, this trailer has been making the rounds:

Hello redeye, Jason here, Director and lead animator for Doctor Stew. I just wanted to thank you for this article, and your support of our reboot of Doctor Stew!

I just wanted to point out a few facts that are straying from this article:

FOX is in no way affiliated with us, or in charge of offering “consent” for us to create this reboot of our series. We’ve meticulously cleaned the board to prevent any more legal recourse from FOX.

The first video you posted is actually not an official trailer, but indeed a fan made trailer. We won’t be using any more characters from Family Guy or any FOX shows in our series in the future. Doctor Stew is free, the sky is the limit, and we have some great adventures, gags, and story archs planned for our series, which hopefully will be ready for air on 11.11.12!! Thanks for your support!

Wow “Jamie” or should I say Xander, you’re pretty weak. It’s a shame you’re blinded by your hatred of me, if you could read the syntax, you’d see that only Kevin Karstens uses “:)” a lot. And actually, the only place I have ever posted this link, is on our Facebook page, and on the BBC America twitter account – that’s it. I am curious where you get the impression that we spam our link?

Maybe it’s some kind of inner reflection on things you do, such as call yourself the “best title sequence creator” on the net, or tell the beebs to “keep up” all while asking them for a job. Or maybe it’s the part where you practically beg people to share your content, both in your videos, and on the description.

Maybe you’re just jealous you need to copy my model for success, I am not quite sure what it is, or why you’re in a secret competition with yourself. I say yourself because honestly, you don’t realize that you’re not in a competition with me, I could care less what you do with your work.

While I think you’re work is brilliant, I think YOU AS A PERSON are shallow, spiteful, and ignorant. Who else needs to go around the Internet, making fake accounts to dislike videos, and make hurtful comments? Not me. I wear my heart on my shoulder, and if I have a problem with you, or something you do, I’ll come out and tell you how it is – as myself. Not as some fake account.

Bottom line Xander, your actions over the past 3 months have been pathetic, and until you get on board, and realize that your over inflated ego is hurting your progress, the sooner you will find peace. Until then, you’re going to go through life, not living up to your full potential, and being mad at me for it.

I hope that clears up some things with you.

So instead of blocking my emails, and wearing that crown, come back down to earth.

    “i dont understand?”

    LOL…no kidding you don’t.

Jason is Jason (our brilliant animator and director for Doctor Stew)…I am Kevin Karstens (with an ‘s’ at the end, thank you very much)…I am NOT some ‘second acct’ or whatever of Jason’s…please Google ‘Karstens Creations’ or ‘Kevin Karstens’ to see my work and my bio, etc…I’ve been online running my art biz since 1994…

And Jason is right, you are shallow, spiteful, and ignorant…sadly enough.

    Why so serious?

Lighten up…you only get one go around…why waste time trying to make it miserable for others when you could have FUN?…;)

OK, a big ‘DUH’ from me…I just noted, you can click my name at the top of my posts, and go directly to ‘Karstens Creations’…my apologies…

And once again, thanks for the write up, RedEyeRogue, and my apologies RE Jamie Taylor…no idea WHAT gets into some people….:)

The cloud disperse and the self shines much like the sun. Therefore, when you
have accidently clicked on a Trojan virus program, there isn’t any escape until it fully enters your computer.
Today bark rope making is really a lost art in many communities,
although it continues to be practiced for decoration or used as
a possible art media by many tribal artists.

It can be tough, however, to learn how to easily examine the many different pictures you’ve taken. Get a
bigger keyboard to generate the most of one’s i – Phone.
Apple products employ this to build graphical user interfaces, and we
are all knowledgeable about a “GUI” interface.
