SyFy Channel Cancels Battlestar Galactica Blood & Chrome BEFORE IT AIRS!

Syfy has decided not to order to series the prequel Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome.

Although an unofficial trailer screened at WonderCon and made its way online, reigniting fan interest, the project will not be moving forward.

“We are actively pursuing it as was originally intended: a groundbreaking digital series that will launch to audiences beyond the scope of a television screen. The 90-minute pilot movie will air on Syfy in its entirety at a future date,” Syfy president Mark Stern said in a statement, adding that “our enthusiasm for this ambitious project has not waned.”

I’m posting the trailer, below, for everyone to see.  Syfy may not like it, but we here at RER believe the viewing public has a right to see what the network has decided to pass on.

In place of Blood & Chrome, SyFy Channel ordered 300 more episodes of Wrestling.

By your command…

Not true. Get your facts straight. This news came out five months ago and SyFy is actively developing this as a series as part of their digital brand. Our team is in regular contact with several members of the production personnel that are involved with this project and it is very much alive.

Just because you don’t understand how the new media works, it doesn’t mean you know what you’re talking about.

And BTW, we’ve had this video since it aired at Wondercon… in March… not over the weekend.

We have sources, you don’t… don’t make things up.

Hey TV-tastic, take a Valium and relax. And try to remember that you are talking to killer robots here.

We like making things up here at RER. Like that trailer. We shot it. Made it. And put it up. Also you will notice that we did not include the quote from Mark Stern talking about the fact that it will be an online property.
    Oh wait. We did.
And what is this “New Media” you kids keep talking about? We’re busy trying to get our VCR’s fixed so we can watch all our taped episodes of Beauty & The Beast.

    Take a valium indeed.

You’re a joke. We’re not going to do your work for you, but please don’t pretend that you have some kind of journalistic standards when this site is nothing but Fanboy-Central. I think Skynet actually believes that you really are killer robots…. that blog… with big fat metal fingers.

You included the quote from Stern (which you jacked from someone else and didn’t credit) following the statement that SyFy has decided to not order it to series when the intention is EXACTLY to order it to series… digitally. You’re so ignorant on what new media is that you don’t even understand what is meant by “digital series.” We’ll take a wild guess here and assume that you think that it means five-minute webisodes.

    Uh… no.

…And we love how you edited your piece to remove the “…over the weekend” phrase out of your statement about the video from Wondercon after we called you on the fact that you were five months late with this news. Way to stay current… five months after-the-fact. You’re hilarious!

Hey, here’s an idea, oh gods of Internet journalism, when you screw-up and you have to edit, maybe you should issue a retraction and explain the edit… y’know, like real journalists.

Carry on, fanboys… just keep standing up for the rights of the average viewer (five months later when everyone and their brother has this video). You’re doing a great job!

You are right. We are a joke! Apparently you haven’t spent much time at RER or you wouldn’t be taking such pride in pointing out the obvious. But we’re happy to have you as a new reader and welcome your insights, critiques, and comments.
Just please wash your hands after using the facilities.

Can I raise a practical question at this point?

Are they going to do a Blood and Chrome series or not?

Would now be a good time to bring up the Nazis?

I was way out of line with my douchbaggery in my prior comments. RedEyeRogue has a fun site here and he does some brilliant work and I’m proud that he’s accepted my invitation to write for us, as well.
