Ridley Scott talks with H.R. Giger (Scott plagued by nightmares for days afterward)

Things just keep looking brighter and brighter for the Alien franchise and it’s upcoming prequel. As mentioned in a previous  RedEye Rogue article Ridley Scott is back on board.  Not only is he planning on going back and exploring the origins of the “Space Jockey” and bringing on a new lead female character but he’s purportedly in talks with H.R. Giger – the artist whose work inspired the creature itself and the entire art design of the first film – to produce a whole new breed of Alien!

Scott talking on the new story;

“[The film] is about the discussion of terraforming — taking planets and planetoids and balls of earth and trying to terraform, seed them with the possibilities of future life,” he explained. The initiative will be led by the Weyland Corporation, an early iteration of the Weyland-Yutani Corp. that causes so many problems throughout the series. I’m thinking of putting killer clowns and the band ‘N Sync‘ in it. Also, that Giger guy gives me the heebee jeebies,”

RedEyeRogue.com has gotten it’s hands on a leaked image of one of Giger’s proposed  new creature designs;

Hmm, seems like he’s just rehashing the original story.
