Maybe it’s something in the air. The deeper summer blue bathed in radiant orange sun. We’re feeling particularly reflective this evening at Redeye Rogue. Normally this would be the time for contributing editor Leoben Conoy to interject something sublime and idiotic into the conversation, but he’s busy tripping on some pretty green flowers that arrived in a pink box with a bow this morning.
We’re often asked, with a world so full of important issues, why we spend so much of our time obsessing over a small niche of nerdom.
That is a valid question.
Believe us when we say it wakes us up at night to think that when most of us were born there were 3.7 billion humans living on this planet. Currently there are over 7 billion. The worlds population doubled during our lifetimes.
Sometimes I crap my pants when I think about the fact that there are 67 thousand nuclear missiles on the planet.
I scratch my head in bafflement at Americans who are more concerned with protecting guns than they are people.
But all of this has happened before and it will all happen again.
