Petition Drive to Save Caprica

Here at RedEye Rogue we like to keep things light and airy – sort of like an English Muffin. For a moment, though, we’d like to get serious to beseech our readership for a little help.
According to the Caprica Times, a petition is being passed around calling for the renewal of Caprica:

“Sasha Roiz (Sam Adama) & Alessandra Torresani (Zoe Graystone) have tweeted in support of the petition below. The petition is a chance for fans to show our support of Caprica and our desire to have it renewed for a second Season. Season 1.5 of Caprica is currently airing on Syfy (US) at 10/9c and Space Channel (Canada) at 10 e/p.

Please sign and let NBC Universal know that you need more Caprica and would like to see it renewed for Season 2:”

http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/caprica-for-season-2.html

Now before you go rolling your eyes (and clicking off to that porn site) stop and consider for a moment; both Star Trek and Family Guy were saved by letter writing camapaigns and Futurama was also brought back from the dead due to fan support – so this isn’t entirely far fetched.

If anything this is an opportunity to get those network suits to pull their thick heads out of their rear-ends and see what their viewers really want (hint: it isn’t Sharktopus or Wrasteling).

So what are you waiting for? Get signing!

AND DON’T FORGET TO SEND YOU’R APPLES TO THE HONCHOS AT SY FY!

And pass it on to your fellow cylon geeks!

“sign the frakkin petition…or you’ll be sleepin’ with Luca Braza”

By your command…

Mark Stern is a hack and needs to be fired. He has proven he has no sense of quality, of mission, or even of science fiction itself. Look at the crap he has in the line-up.

I think what we should do is keep on voting on the people’s choice link for caprica for favourite scifi t.v. show, then select favourite t.v. family and there’s the option for a write in vote, and people write in the Graystone family, just a thought

Networks need to give a show time to hit its stride — Caprica deals with a lot of timely issues that are hard to digest, taking time to build a following.

Writers also need to tighten it up — lets get to it!

Bring it back for Season 2!

If you REALLY want to hit them where it hurts, start a petition drive to get 1/2 million people to cancel their Cable Subscriptions.

That’s 25 million per month to the cable industry gone, in a puff of smoke. 25 million per month isn’t going to bring them to their knees, but it should get their attention.

It needs to go back to being SCI FI.

    Still fuming…

The more I think about this… We need to change this distribution model. I don’t have books yanked out of my hands in mid sentence.

As viewers we have no control over choice. If we, the consumer, forced an “on demand” model, we take the power out of TV executives hands, and advertisers for that matter.

Someone with energy and time needs to lead the charge, a mass migration away from the Network/Cable/Satellite model.

The gaps of time between the first 8 and this fall were too much to overcome….they didn’t connect the show well to the most Recent BSG and then they expect fans of the show not to get hooked on other shows in these huge time gaps…the execs don’t seem to understand the pace of life today.

Flooding TPTB with Tabasco sauce bottles in part saved Roswell for a third season. At least the gave the fans some closure with the final episodes.
Stupid programing decisions are the reason they failed Caprica, NOT the fan base.
    To the airlock with them!

I noticed I can’t find Caprica on any more here in the US. Read to my surprise it was being canceled a few days ago. I have seen retarded syfy shows run forever- Sanctuary, even Battlestar Galactica- was stupid and hard to follow. Caprica was actually a great show. Is it already gone from US? Screw syfy and its stupid senseless name change from scifi. And wrestling??!! what the..?!
Send an apple? I’d like throw one at their heads and knock some sense into them. I have actually decided to probably cancel my cable. What’s the point?! Never anything on.

What a damn mess SYFI was change for the Wrestling that is who bought the shit out. SCI FI should of stayed the way it was. All these reality shit show is garbage! There isn never any good shows to watch any more. We get a good show you all cancelled it out. ITs all money. I am do degree with you all they need to get the ass holes out of office and put in ppl who understands the ppls welfare and what we enjoy watching! NOW BRING CAPRICA BACK! OR YOU HAVE TO MAKE A SHOW UP FOR 3 HRS TO EXPLAIN THE WHOLE SHOW AND THE OUT COME WHICH EVER DO NOT CHEAT US OUT ON THIS SHOW.

One other thing I am doing a search on this show Caprica and get the main office numbers and thier addresses and emails to write and call them. This is one show I will fight for to get back but the others shows, I dont care what happens to them. But this show is special and different. I am a big fan of fantasys science fiction.

As sad as i am to hear the news of Caprica’s cancelation im not hugely surprised by it, i have watched so many shows go this way of late and frankly i’v lost faith in the whole industry. My only question is, has noone in authority paused to conscider that maybe the reason these shows get such low ratings is because those who would normaly watch them have collectively decided not to get involved in yet another show that will inevitably get cancelled or ‘re-tooled’? can anyone say Firefly?

Oh and a final word of caution to any SG Universe fans, there but for the grace of God…

Save Caprica! Save Caprica! Save Caprica! What else can I pray for. It is the only show I watch on TV. SYFY channel is now out of control. No one ever said wrestling was science fiction. It is not science just fiction. Phony executives, learn to research your shows on the web. There are more Capricans out there than most shows today. And we are all come frome different places and times. All age groups seem to be represented everywhere I look and they all say “Save Caprica! ” Listen to me if anyone, make the series return to us all. JD

The best night and the best channel on TV for me was Friday nights on the SiFi channel. From FarScape, to BSG, and now Caprica we’ve been treated with some of the BEST shows on TV. To the SiFi executes: put the show back on at 9 PM CT on Friday’s! If you feel the need to screw with a show’s time slot please feel free to change some of the reality shows. I didn’t think anything could replace BSG, but Caprica has amused me! My impression of Caprica’s cast, crew, directors and story is outstanding! My impression of the executives at SiFi – NOT SO MUCH!

I was a huge fan of BSG, and I’ve seen every episode of Caprica hoping it would pick up. Sadly it just isnt that good, too much of it is about the cult and daniel’s business and politics.
Admittedly, they cancelled it just as it was starting to get interesting, but I’d rather that they tastefully wrap the season up rather than drag it out another season.

SyFy treated this show unfairly by scheduling it on Tuesdays on the most competitive night of television. The lack of promotion and marketing also hurt this complex, finely written and acted show. It’s a shame that intelligent science fiction shows aren’t given a chance to grow. Most first seasons of any show including Battlestar Galactica took time to develop and grow and audience. SyFy please reconsider your decision. At least air the final 5 episodes before 2011.

Get a show thats a spin off to a popular and well recieved show.
Dont promote or advertise it properly.
    Change its slot.
Break up the season with huge gaps to people loose track of the story.
Use an outdated model to show viewing figures.
Complain when said show’s figures are dropping.
    Cancel said show.
Order a pilot to another spin off.

    Yeah that’ll work..

Why does “Reality TV” have any place on Sci-Fi television, let alone Wrestling??? I am so tired of tuning in to find fake ghost hunters, wrestling, and now my god a “grandma knows best psychic”???? What are they thinking. Give us back true (old fashioned) Science Fiction! not “SyFy” it is Sci-Fi!
    SAVE CAPRICA!

Living in Australia we see everything later, this show is great, although it has not been promoted at all, and is on a week night quite late. It is a shame that shows are no longer given a chance.Save Caprica please!

This show was fun for me, fantasy.

SYFY claims its ratings, Uh ratings are so yesterday and out of touch its not funny, if the show did not have viewers and a fan base then when you google this subject not much would come up, do for yourself and you will find a lot of comments and sites about this.

Paying for TV is becoming a joke, the channels change content so much and repeat shows over and over, sometimes for years, that they insult us. We are insulted because we are getting nothing in return for our money. The channels get paid by advertising and us and then they turn around and try to find the cheapest way to provide what they think will make the views watch.

LOL yeah wrestling is what science fiction followers want to watch.

Sorry SyFy I give you a big fat F for failing your audience

This sci-fi show was truly entertaning and had developed into a complex and intriguing storyline for both BSG fans or newbies alike I’m sure. The characters come in various shades of grey in terms of their moralities, with their own worthwhile sub-plots and wheels within those wheels. This show had so many possibities and for it to be pulled from our screens to be replaced by wrestling (on a sci-fi channel…really?) is outrageous.

I imagine that shows like Star Trek, Far Scape, Babylon 5 and Andromeda would have stood no chance if they had been created in today’s entertainment market. This is, in my opinion, another poor and short-sighted decision by a greedy network management team, desperate for a quick buck, rather than being prepared to look at the big picture.

    Shame on you Syfy!!!!

Save Caprica! BOYCOTT NBC AND CBS
Save Caprica! I have an idea. I am currently boycotting ALL merchandise advertised on NBC and CBS until Caprica is back. Any product I see on NBC or CBS is on my ”DO NOT BUY! list”. If the execs care only for money, how would they feel if no one advertises on their network because of a boycott. Pass this along and give it a good think over. TO THE SYFY channel powers that be:

Seriously? You guys are cancelling Caprica, but keeping Stargate Universe? You have GOT to be kidding me. I have liked the Stargate franchise (for the most part), but Stargate Universe is clearly a “Battlestar Gallactica” wanna-be. Although the production is top-notch — the writing sucks.

I have been a fan of Ronald Moore since the ST:NG and ST: DS9 days.
Battlestar was one the BEST scifi shows I have ever seen. How could you pull the plug after such a short time? There MUST be a HUGE viewership, simply from the fans of BG. What are you guys thinking?

My advice: suck up to Ronald Moore, and at the very least, agree
to a feature movie (ala “Serenity”) that gives us fans the resolution we want.

I am so pissed off, Caprica has been canceled and i just saw the final five episodes and they were the best episodes of the season and their preview for season 2 looks F’ing Crazy and awesome. It was just starting to get some BSG injected into, picking up the action and the stakes. It and Was becoming an even better show and a legitimate heir to the BSG series. We need to get the word out and show more people what we want and push to bring it back PLZ we need some more ideas to make this bigger a statement like they did with Jericho.
The apples are a good idea but me and probably a lot of us need to know WHERE TO SEND THE APPLES (LIKE A ADDRESS)

We can Bring this back if we bring the strength of the one true god to really start a bigger sound so they finally listen and stop ruining good shows by shitty promos and the retarded Nealson ratings, they should take in account DVR and stuff like twitter and face book to account for a show popularity. Please lets get some ideas and results going, let make them listen

LET’S BRING THIS GREAT SHOW BACK!!!!! SO SAY WE ALL

SG-U has just been canceled making every good show on scfy gone, these executives are retarded for ruining my faith in TV shows, whats the point of watching show if they never have a chance to wrap story lines and are canceled far to soon. I sort of get the SGU cancellation, but Caprica was far to good, now we get fake wrestling, stupid ghost shows, and horrible made for TV movies. I am sorry to say i don’t think there is a chance of bringing caprica back, even though it was the best show they had. I officially hate the SCFY channel and have lost hope
