You may remember that a few months back, RedEye Rogue scooped (well not really scooped, but reported on) the possibility of a forthcoming new Battlestar Galactica series. Well, crack open your best bottle of ambrosia and fire up your most expensive stogies because it looks like we got ourselves a brand spanking new Battlestar Galactica show coming our way…
Maureen Ryan of the Chicago Tribune, reports;
“According to Mark Stern, Syfy’s executive vice president of original programming and “Battlestar Galactica” and “Caprica” co-executive producer Michael Taylor the new show will be entitled “Blood & Chrome” and will take place during the first Cylon War… Taylor will write the script for the new venture.”
The only cloud in this silver lining (huh?) is that the show will consist of ten, 10 minute webisodes (boo hiss) and is to be shot entirely on greenscreen sets. However, according to Ryan, “If “Blood & Chrome” is successful, it could be the first of a series of similar projects, and if it’s judged very successful, it could even act as a backdoor pilot for a TV show set in that war-torn “BSG” era.”
We here at RedEye Rogue absolutely loved the Razor flashbacks. They captured the flair and flavor of the original 1978 Galactica, and the scifi dogfight bravado of Star Wars, while at the same time throwing in enough verisimilitude and visceral intensity to make it feel real, and scary.
RedEyeRogue.com will keep you up to date on any developments with regards to Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome!
