Love, Romance, and Scott Pilgrim’s Alternate Ending

I’ve always wanted to put the objective “to save the world, and get the girl” on my resume, but I’m not sure it would fly with employers. Truth is, when people ask me what my goals in life are, that’s actually the answer I give.

Might as well shoot for the stars.

After all isn’t that what all true heroes do? They make the world a better place, while at the same time falling in love?

While he certainly made the world a better place by killing off the douchebags, and was sucessful in getting the girl, did Scott Pilgrim end up with the right girl?

Was he fighting for the wrong girl from the start?

Maybe it would have been too anticlimactic to have Scott fight and defeat all those foes only to “settle” for Knives in the end?

The question is what was Scott fighting for? Infatuation, or love?

There’s nothing quite like infatuation however to throw your life upside down and inside out.

But when it happens, it’s like being touched by God.
